THE LODGE
This is the story of a family – a family with a love of travel and a devotion to beautiful spaces. A family which truly values hospitality.
It’s the story of a passion for this country, for Senegal. For its white sandy beaches and its mangrove forests, its ancestral customs and its local skills. For its flavours and the effects of its light, its gentle but still wild nature.
It’s a state of mind. This eco-friendly lodge, perfectly integrated into its African environment, was the outcome of a quest for meaning, together with a wish to cultivate the pleasures of the senses and inner peace: 10 suites where nothing is superfluous, but everything is splendid. It’s an attitude which subtly combines luxury and nature: where the character of the untreated wood echoes the subtlety of the shamelessly modern décor, the local stone highlights the modernity of the layout, and the natural colours of the locally produced fabrics contrast with the stylish furniture.
Yokan Lodge is in the village of Palmarin, Senegal, south of Dakar. It’s at the gateway to the Sine Saloum region, between Joal-Fadiouth and Djiffer, at the edge of a beach of white sand stretching between the ocean and the mangroves.
